These shoes are great. They last me about a month or two. My only complaints are the drawstring and wing strength. The drawstring is a thick non stretchy cord. It can get pretty uncomfortable at times. The wings are what usually die first in my shoes. They get soft in about 2 weeks. Overall I rate these shoes 4.5 out of 5.

These are my favorite pointe shoes I’ve ever worn and as a professional dancer I’ve worn a lot. They do die fairly quickly when wearing them at a professional level but even dead I can keep dancing in them because they break very evenly.

pnwonderland03/26/2021 Minneapolis,MNWISH THESE WORKED FOR ME!
i have wide but compressible diamond shaped greek feet with short toes and wear a 6.5 street shoe. i first got these in a 4.5XXXX (i fit the 4.5XXX in synthesis and a 5XXX in dramatica ii) but my feet were swimming in them. they were too long in length and too wide. i then sized down to the 4XXX. unfortunately, the length were now too short. although the width worked well, i think the low vamp coupled with the width contributed to me sinking and having some difficulty getting over onto pointe. i do wish these had worked bc the looked beautiful on my feet, but ultimately, the synthesis and dramatica fit my feet better, were more supportive, and were easier to get over.

I have contacted Discount Dance & am still waiting for a response. The pointe shoes we received had clearly been worn. The boxes & soles are dirty. Not sure how these made it back into stock when someone returned them. Pointe shoes are too expensive to receive someone's cast offs.
We apologize for this inconvenience. We take the inspection of returned merchandise seriously and will work to avoid errors like this in the future. It appears that a replacement has been sent to you at no charge. Please contact customer service for any other assistance. Thank you.

Former-Royal Ballet, Teacher06/03/2020 Singapore,GREAT FOR HIGH INSTEPS!
Every pointe shoe making company has a different size guide, so you should get fitted by a professional before you decide to buy any pointe shoes. This Bloch Heritage pointe shoe has a high vamp in a V shape, making it harder to injure yourself especially if you have a really high instead (myself). The line looks great on the foot and it makes your feet look very elegant. I have been wearing this shoe ever since I was 11, and I intend to continue using it because it is the best shoe I've worn even after trying dozens of shoes from many different companies. The drawstring is not elastic which makes it easier to tuck in and hide the string when on stage. Has a good arch already in it, and is very comfortable. There is also a small cushion at the end of the box.

Ellie03/01/2020 Champaign,ILI LOVE THIS SHOE!
I love this shoe! This was one of the first types of shoes that I tried and I instantly fell in love with this shoe. I have been using this shoe for 2 years and I'm on my 10th pair. These shoes last me a fairly long time even though I use them pretty much every day for rehearsals and classes. The cushion is wonderful and it fits well even with my greek foot shape. My one complaint with this shoe is that the heel sometimes slips off. However, this has happened with different brands as well.

I got these shoes as my first pair of pointe shoes which was about one year ago. I found that these are great pointe shoes for me and are nice and comfortable. I don't like how they come with a little gel pad at the tip of the shoe but it is easy to take out. I ware a women's street shoe of 6 and I ordered a four and a half xxx and they work great I usually get stretchy ribbon and thick elastic to go with it and it is great. And I am starting rehearsals soon and I will be dancing on pointe for more then three hours each day and these shoes don't die super fast but I will be going through more shoes. I would definitely recommend these.

I had been wearing the bloch axioms for a couple months but they were dying so fast. I got these because they were hard, yet still narrow. I got the same size as my axioms, but they were way to small so i tore out the gel padding, which made them unbearable when it came to 5 hour rehearsals. With great hope, i ordered one size up. They were super hard at first and almost as painful as the first pair. Once broken in they looked great. I have great legs, but bad feet and these really showed of my legs, and made my feet look good. It is definitely a good shoe if you want to get stronger in pointe technique. It is vital to lift out of the shoe, and requires lots energy to move through. I will say, i probably will not completely switch to this shoe. They give me the worst blisters on earth and after 4 hours, i have to change to flats. Good for short, strength building classes.

Ok, so to start off with, this shoe is amazing. This was my first and i have stayed with it. Its very comfortable, it fits my feet very well. The vamp is definitely narrow, so if you have wider feet or bunions, i would not suggest these. My problem is that my first pair i outgrew. (nothing wrong with shoe, just me) Then my second pair after about a month and a half started getting softer. I felt like i was sinking more and more each time i wore them. This was very frustrating because it felt like i had just gotten them. These were only my second pair. I really wish they would have lasted longer. They break in very easily, which is nice. But, they die quickly as well. Granted, I do have strong feet. But for only the second pair? I would have hoped they could have lasted longer.
In conclusion, i would suggest these shoes very mostly first time, or medium strength girls. I really do love these, they look amazing on my feet and they break in easy. (Which as all dancers know feels wonderful.) I have just ordered another pair today in hopes that these might last longer. If they don't, i am going to try Russian pointe because of the similarity. And i know that Russians will last longer.
If this shoe is your first or you have medium strength (be honest with yourself) then definitely try these! These are perfect "first shoes". And to you parents who are clueless, if your daughter has narrow feet, little to no bunions, and medium arches, this shoe might just be the "glass slipper". This shoe is a great experience for first time Girls. Good luck, and keep on dancing.

Abbeymeister07/07/2015GOOD, BUT...
The shoes fit pretty well for me, but I didn't like how they don't offer different sizes for the vamp, and the strongest shank was too weak for me personally. The shoes work well, and the broke in immediately, which was nice, but they also died pretty quickly too. Ever since I began in pointe shoes, I have used Russian Pointe shoes and only recently tried these because the kind of shoe I used to use was discontinued. If you have medium-lower arches and maybe don't break in shoes as quickly, these may be great! They work well for me, and I have medium-high arches and somewhat strong feet. The only problem is I'll have to buy them more often than I did the Russians.

Abbs01/07/2015PERFECT FIT
I think these shoes are fantastic. I have been en pointe for four years now--and Bloch Heritage is my absolute favorite.
I started off with Aspirations (Bloch), my second year two different models of Russian Pointes' (I killed those in two-three weeks#, third year Serenades #Bloch# which were nice because I used the hard shank, and finally Heritage#
The Heritage shoe looks very nice on my feet because I have very strong arches, I am tall, and I have long pointe classes# These last me about a month, then maybe two extra weeks with JetGlue# They are comfortable, but run smaller# I am a street size 8 and need a 5 1/2 for these shoes# Overall, great mobility, the V-vamp looks very nice, and a relatively good lifetime for a pointe shoe#
#sorry for the random number signs, there must have been a glitch =#)

KayKayDancer01/03/2015FOUND "THE SHOE".
The Bloch Heritage pointe shoe will forever be "The Shoe". It was my first pointe shoe, and it looked great on me. It was extremely comfortable, especially with ouch-pouches. Like all pointe shoes, it runs small, so if your street shoe size is 8 (like me), I recommend getting 2 sizes smaller. It lasted me about 5 months, which is okay, but my Russian Pointes lasted a year. Plus I'm en pointe about 2 hours a week. I always thought I had narrow feet, but I ended up getting a 6XXX. I used to think it was bulky, but I got used to it and it looked normal. I have a tapered foot, and wear toe spacers. It's a great shoe, and I reccomend it for all levels.

AKballetdancer07/19/2014MY STORY WITH POINTE SHOES
These pointe shoes were about as comfortable as pointe shoes can get. I would of had very simple feet, but the bone right below my little toe leans out just slightly. This made it especially hard to find toe shoes that didn't hurt. I tried many brands and my first pair ended up being capezio. I started feeling pain within the first month, but being new to pointe shoes I thought it was because I wasn't used to them yet. My instructor found the real reason though: My feet were falling too far inward because of the bone below my little toe. I had to find new pointe shoes because my feet would be damaged otherwise. In Bloch "Heritage" toe shoes, my feet stand up straight because the box starts out wide enough where my bone issue is, but tapers down nicely around my toes.
They are pretty durable for around five months
Very nicely shaped pointe shoes, which benefit the whole look
As comfortable as pointe shoes get
Runs a little small. I'm a size 6 1/2 to 7 in street shoes, but I wear a 5 in these
Recommend these to anyone with wide feet but tapered toes
I really love these shoes, I bought them at my local dance store for my recital so I can have a clean pair of shoes (never pancake blochs! their paste will cause a chemical reaction and make the shoes die faster) Its like my two favorite shoes freed classic pro and bloch serenade got married and this was their baby! My only problem is the shank, when you have muscle tone similar to that of an olympic athlete a strong, stiff shank is a must. I will go on this get dancewear site that holds the strong shank shoe once these and my serenades die.

DancerCO1404/12/2014SOFT SHANK :(
I have been on pointe for 2 years. My first pair were Bloch's European Balance, and my 2nd pair were Russian Pointe's Almaz. I have fairly narrow feet, with my 1st longer than all the others (Egyptian). My toes are SUPER LONG (as long as some peoples' fingers!!!). I also have very archy feet. I LOVED the shanks of my Russians, but the box hurt my toes. On this pair, I got them because the box felt great on my toes. After time, the box got less comfortable, but that is to be expected. I started going over the front of the shoe even when I was using my feet after not to long in these shoes.
I feel SUPER wobbly whenever I do pointe now. My previous pairs have lasted for 4-6 months, so these are a HUGE disapointment, being worthless in less than a month. I am gong to jet glue the shark, but I'm still disappointed. If you have long, archy toes and feet, these are not the shoes for you. DARN!!!

MissE04/09/2014WELL DESIGNED SHOE
General Notes: Sizing 2-2 1/2 sizes smaller than street. Narrow heel, wide metatarsal, generous platform. Med. hard box and wings. Med. hard shank, flexible out-of-the-box. Nice, flat sole (great balance standing flat.)
I have high arches, flexible ankles, wide metatarsals, narrow heels, low profile feet, strong feet, med. square toes. These shoes solve a lot of my usual problems. The heel is high and stays in place. The padding in the heel feels great, and makes a nice shape to the shoe en pointe. The v-vamp covers a lot of my metatarsal, offers great support, and helps keep me from "popping out" the front of the shoe. Also, it makes a great line on my feet, helps them look slimmer. I have a XXX width, which is great for standing/walking, but find the box runs almost too wide. Gaynor Minden box liners help it fit, and feel great. The platform is wide and offers great balance. The built-in foam in the toe is a nice touch. Light and comfortable!
Because they have a med. strength they are really easy and comfortable to dance in right away, without much break-in. My only issue is durability. I wish they came with a hard shank. For my purposes, they are more of a performance shoe; otherwise I wear them out pretty soon. However, the red-board shank is pretty durable for what it is. I would recommend them for many dance levels.

LittleMissBallerina150103/01/2014GREAT POINTE SHOES, COMFY AND GORGEOUS
I have been on pointe for almost 3 years. My first two years I danced about 1-3 hours a week, but then again, my feet were positively awful and I wore them until the shank cracked - my first pair, Grishko 2007, lasted a full year and so did my Russian pointes (second pair). Next, I got 2 beautiful pairs of Bloch Heritages, regular shank, for my summer intensive, ABT AL, where I worked en pointe for about 5 hours a week (I was in the youngest level) and actually one pair lasted me the whole 3 weeks (about 15 hours of wear), and I used the other pair for my first classes of the season. I had this really nice but kind of weird sub for weeks, so we only danced like a half hour a day on pointe even though it was a "back in the ballet swing intensive" and we had 3 hours every day. But anyway, the Blochs lasted me for those two weeks and two more once I was dancing 5 hours on pointe again... Granted, I wore them till they were super dead! But I ordered more, this time 2 pairs with a hard shank, and those lasted about 3 weeks of 5 hours a week, including one performance. Then, I decided to get the regular shank again (about 2 months had passed since I last got the regular shank) for YAGP, because they'd be easy to break in the day before the performance. Sure enough, I was able to break them in in about 10 minutes (foot work, snapping the shank in half, jumping on them ... I didn't have a door.....) and compared them to my hard shank, and they looked SO MUCH BETTER ON MY FEET, LET ME GET OVER MY BOX SO MUCH MORE, AND MADE DANCING SO MUCH EASIER! I was delighted! I don't have the best feet, though they're not biscuits anymore, but these shoes make my feet look like bananas!
So If you get Bloch heritages and you have medium-flexible ankles and medium-high arches, go for the soft pair. You don't even go through them that much faster, because when you have a hard shank you literally have to murder them before you've even worn them. But it's so worth it! They're by far my favorite pointe shoes - I've had 6 pairs in the past Six months, but I love them anyways!!! Blochs are great, they're even comfier because of the soft gel pad. LOVELOVELOVELOVE.

MissGrenko01/12/2014MY GO-TO SHOES!
I have tried many, many brands and models of pointe shoes, and I always end up coming back to these. The color is beautiful, they create a lovely line, and they are also pretty durable. They are extremely comfortable. Some reviewers dislike the foam pad on the platform inside the shoe, but I think it's great! It keeps you comfortable during long classes and rehearsals. The platform is very wide for a tapered shoe, which makes for superior balancing compared to other shoes I've tried.
I have "diamond" feet, which means tapered toes, wide metatarsals, and narrow heels. Most pointe shoes put too much pressure on my big toe, but in these shoes, I can evenly distribute my weight without sickling. I don't have amazingly arched feet either...I have medium arches and insteps, and these shoes practically make it look like I have banana feet from a distance! Amazing!
I usually wear an 8 1/2 street shoe, and I always order a 5.5xxx in these.

ppixie2806/14/2013LOVE THESE SHOES!
I have tried so many shoes and it seemed every time I found one I liked it ended up being discontinued! I have always liked capezio best and my favorite where the jete's I tried Tiffanys because they said they were similar but the crown was to high.
I have shorter tapered toes and a fairly average width foot. I wear a 7 street shoe and a 5xx in these.
I also 3/4 the shanks on mine and they last a surprisingly long time. Course I like my shoes on the soft side and don't feel really good in them till they are half dead...

I have been en pointe for about three years now and I absolutly love it. For the first two years I used gamba pointe shoes, don't ask me which, i dont remeber. But just this year, after our production of THE NUTCRACKER SUITE, i decided t try something else. My teacher uses this model herself and recomended it with high standards. I decided it could be worth a try. When i first got it i had issues getting used to the gel pad in the tip of the shoe, as always it hurt to break them in. And now that i have broken them in and am used to them, i couldn't be happier with my decision. The shank is pliable but not too, i can get it molded to my arches so well and they are confertable. i love them. i can get on my box a lot easier, but they do wear down a little faster then the gambas did, but when i was in the gambas i was only taking one pointe class a week, now i am taking three so i guess it is to be expected. overall i am very happy with these pointe shoes. and i would toatally say you will love these

KaseyDarlene01/31/2013FIT AND FEEL WONDERFUL, BUT DO NOT LAST
Overall, I love these shoes and will probably be using them for a pretty long time. I always had trouble getting completely over the box and balancing in the pair of shoes I had before these (the Bloch Axis) because the vamp was too long for me. I also had a few problems with the shoe twisting at the heel. ( I have short, tapered toes with a wide metatarsal and narrow heel.) But I have never had any of those problems with these shoes. No twisting, and because of the lower vamp I can get completely flat on the platform with ease, and as a result I can balance and turn much easier. Also, no blisters, no discomfort, etc. I really love them. The only complaint I have is that they only last me about 2 to 3 months and thats dancing in them four days a week only in the last 20 or so minutes of class and I do not have an extremely high arch. I wouldn't recommend them to someone with high arches, extremely strong feet, or long toes. Ultimately, they work great for me as long as I can continue to afford a new pair every few months. I would stongly recommend them to anyone with same kind of problems with pointe shoesI have, but not to someone who dances more often than I do or with arches any higher.

I adore this shoe. It's comfortable and forms and fits my foot beautifully. However because its a soft shank I go through them in about 3 weeks because my feet are too strong for them. I had Russians as my first pair and they were okay. Then I got Bloch heritage and I love them. Because I wear through them fast I'm trying some harder shanked Russians but I really hate them, they're hard as a rock. I'll probably be going back to my blochs soon.

AngelafromCA12/04/2012GREAT SHOE BUT ONLY FOR YOUR FIRST FEW YEARS
I would highly recommend these pointe shoes as a second or third pair of pointe shoes. The v-shaped vamp is great for shorter toes and allows you to "get over" on pointe. I would not recommend this shoe if you do pointe more than three times a week (as I do with classes and rehearsals) because they will not last very long. Over-all a great shoe and I will continue to wear even if it doesn't last me more than two months.

Juless10/04/2012THE ONLY SHOES I WILL WEAR.
Bloch Heritage Pointe Shoes are the only pointe shoes I will wear! Normally I have to find them from a different online store, but I'm so excited that they're finally offered at Discount Dance. These were my first pair of pointe shoes and no matter what else I try, I also go back. I love the V-vamp and the box holds up so much better than the pointe shoes of my friends. I had my first pair for TWO YEARS!!! and they STILL aren't dead!! I just had to buy a new pair because they started looking worn out. Granted, these were my first two years of pointe, so I wasn't dancing tons and tons of shows in them. However, I had other friends that had to buy new shoes a month after their first pair. I have also never gotten blisters or bled because of them, (unlike my friends). I have also used them with a variety of toe pads and no matter what I wear with them, I still have never felt pain or gotten blisters. Although the reversible gel/cloth toe pads are my favorite :) The only problem I have ever had is that my second pair fit a little different than the first and my foot would pop out of the V-vamp a little bit, so my teacher had me sew elastic across the front. Even then I still loved them, and I haven't had the problem again. I absolutely recommend these to anyone!

Niff09/27/2012THESE ARE MY FIRST POINTE SHOES
I am an older dancer achieving pointe much later in life. I love these shoes. All I use as padding are pillows for pointe, and I have no rubbing, no blisters, no discomfort at all. Granted I have had three years of pre-pointe due to ankle injuries, but I love these shoes. It is as if they are made for my feet. I work through demi and 3/4 pointe well, they fit perfectly, and I can achieve balance in sous-sous, eschape, etc. with nothing more than technique issues and with little to no pain. I love these shoes and am completely thrilled with the fit. I do not have wide feet, but I do have a very rounded toe shape to my foot, so these shoes work very well. I would definitely buy them again, and plan to when this pair wears out. I would also recommend going to a reputable fitter.

Annie08/14/2010 Ann Arbor, Mi,GOOD SHOE, BAD BREAK-IN FOR ME
This shoe was perfect before I completely broke them in. However, now my left shoe is bending weirdly at the shank whenever I go up, and it makes my very nice arches look terrible on that one foot. On the right foot, my arch looks great and the support is good. The badly broken-in shoe still supports, but makes it hard to get up for fouettes and things like that because my arch isn't used to the shoe not hugging it anymore. Definitely gonna try a different brand next time, but these would be really good if it weren't for the weird break-in.

These look absolutely gorgeous on! I had to paint mine copper for a performance and got compliments on them all night. Too bad they only lasted me about 2 hours after that night. "Unbreakable shank"? Don't count on it. The shank is practically worthless in terms of support (admittedly, I usually wear Grishkos so most shanks feel this way to me anyway) and did indeed snap. They do break in quickly and comfortably though, which is the only reason why I bought them at the last minute. But by the third act of the ballet, I was honestly afraid that they wouldn't hold up for my grand pas de deux. And personally, that's not a fear I'm too comfortable with. I guess if you have weaker feet, they'd do fairly well...but don't try to do 32 fouettes with multiple pirouettes in them after more than an hour's use ;)

Lindsay08/20/2006 Virginia,
These are very nice looking shoes and fit my tapered, medium feet very well. The vamp was not as short as I thought it would be. Also, they were not as tapered as they look. I have not used them in class yet, but the shank did not twist like all my other shoes, when trying them on.

Anonymous08/09/2006AMAZING
This shoe is different from other Blochs. For one thing, it has a V-shaped vamp and a padding/cushion at the box, which could either feel comfortable or uncomfortable (depending on the person). I really enjoy this shoe because I have a wide foot, and it is hard to find pointe shoes that fit really well for me. So, I am quite pleased with this shoe and the way it fits! =)

Reformed Bloch gal05/09/2006FINALLY, A BLOCH SHOE FOR ME!
I'm totally in love with this shoe! My studio makes us wear Blochs, which I've always kind of hated before, since the Suprima was too tapered. But nothing else was tapered enough for me, and none of the shoes had the right profile, but these are just right in both! I got the medium 3/4 shank, which is really soft compared to my old Signatures, but I like it. My only complaint is the padded heel. I don't know who that looks natural on, but it's not me.

returning dancer05/05/2006VERY NICE SHOE, BUT NOT FOR NARROW FEET
This is a beautiful shoe, and feels very much like a more durable Chacott Veronese II. The shank is very soft, but still supportive. However, if you like a more typical medium Bloch shank, go for the full Hard option. The vamp is very low, as is the profile, which creates a gorgeous line for the shallow foot. The box is not quite as tapered as it looks here; it's wider than a Grishko 2007. Unfortunately, even with the drawstring, the X width is not particularly narrow. But if this could fit you like a glove, then I think you'll find yourself a wonderful shoe.

What size would compare to Seranade 5c,Serene 5b please?
Thank you for your question. This shoe has a recommended sizing of 2-3 sizes smaller than street shoe while the Serenade has a sizing recommendation of 3 sizes smaller. We would recommend following the manufacturer recommended sizing based on your street shoe rather than comparing with another model of shoe. Please note that sizing cannot be guaranteed. - DDS Customer Service (03/04/2019)
Soloist 01/23/2016 Ohio Age: 17 or under Do they come in red or do you dye them?
Typically pointe shoes primarily come in the classic color, though some are becoming more varied. This specific shoe only comes in the classic pink color and you would need to dye the shoe yourself. - DDS Customer Service (01/28/2016)
In Bloch Sonatas I wear a 5.5B - Is that the equivalent of a 5.5X in Heritage?
That would be approximately the same size. We do not guarantee exact sizing, especially cross comparing other styles. However, based on the sizing they would be very close if not the same. - DDS Customer Service (12/15/2015)
Do you sell this product in Black? I need black pointe shoes for a performance.
Bloch, the manufacturer of the shoe, does not offer this pointe shoe in black. You may want to try to be fitted for a Grishko or a Gaynor Minden since they offer shoes in black. - DDS Customer Service (12/02/2013)
omg black would be so pretty!!!!!! Bloch doesn't generally sell black pointes, therefore dd doesn't either, but you could always dye them ;) - Littlemissballerina1501 (03/09/2014)
If you can't but them in black, it is really easy to color them. I used a large Sharpie marker to make a pair of mine red! - Misse (04/09/2014)
dancerfreak 03/28/2013 Denver, Co Age: 17 or under i have this pointe shoe, and i have to figure out if its dead or not, and if to get new ones
the fabric on the box is almost toatally gone, and i am having issues (even with rasin) not slipping and ive only had them for two months. then again i do three pointe classes a week so yeah. if you could pleease please help me figure it out it would be greatly appreciated.
Point shoe typically have a 6-8 hour point life. Depending on how much you wear, it may be time to purchase a new pair. - DDS Customer Service (03/28/2013)
I found that if I put rosin on the top of the pointe shoe and like on the bow it helped me not to slip. Also other people from what I've heard have cut off or rub off (with like sand paper or even on a rough surface) the satin part on the platform to make the shoes less slippery. Hope this helped. - Balletalltheway98 (10/05/2013)
Hi dancerfreak, I think I can help with your question.
I have been wearing these shoes for over 3 years, and when mine are dead, it's usually because the platform feels soft, and it also feels like I am "going over" too far.
Just because the fabric is worn off doesn't necessarily mean that your shoes are dead because that depends on the type of floor you dance on, and rosin also makes the fabric wear off quickly.
However, two months is a very long time to have a pair of pointe shoes if you do three pointe classes a week.
Based on that amount of time, I would probably say it's time for a new pair. - Missgrenko (01/13/2014)
This item has a medium shank. We do not offer this item in a hard shank. - DDS Customer Service (03/05/2013)
it comes with a medium shank, nothing bad, nice and plyable but not too its a really good pointe shoe - Dancerfreak (03/28/2013)
It does not. However, it probably could be debated among other dancers. I personally do not think it had a difficultly hard shank. These would be great for a beginning pointe dancer. If you're not, I would suggest something a little harder. They have so many different options to choose from. I hope my answer could have been some help to you. Good luck on finding the right pare! - Jaycee (05/01/2013)
Yes! It does! You can't buy it on DDS right now, but other websites do offer it. One important note - the hard shanks are referred to as "strong shanks" by Bloch, at least for Heritage, so if you're trying to google it, try using the word "strong" instead. Hope it works out! - Lvilledancer (10/27/2013)
