I love this sewing kit so much. I already used it to sew my elastic and ribbons on my new pointe shoes and they are very sturdy and last long. plus the needle is easy to put the string through. I recommended this.

Loove this stitch kit. It has a big needle n goes right through the elastic n shoe. I do it once n the thread is strong so it stays the whole it's time for the next shoe. Won't use anything else.

Best thread for sewing pointe shoes and demi-pointe shoes. Very strong and ever-lasting. Wish they made two hues of pink and a flesh tone. The thread is very well assembled, it doesn't split into three different threads when you cut it (like the russian pointe thread - do not buy that one!)

I agree that they changed it too much. This thread tangles up constantly while I'm sewing and comes unknotted when I'm done with it.. Better off using dental floss. Only good thing about it is it matches shoes fairly well, though it seems like it's gotten a bit more orange, or is it just me?

I much preferred the old, heavier weight (or perhaps just more heavily waxed?) thread that was in the previous kits (narrow white tube). The new thread tangles EVERY time I sew with it, and when it isn't getting tangled, it is becoming untwined. I also preferred the narrower tube - it was much easier to slip into a ballet bag emergency kit or pocket.
The old kits were five-star!

I got this kit with a pair of pointe shoes at my local dance store. I really like how sturdy the thread is because you don't have to double it, yet it doesn't break. The container is also big enough that I can store a couple safety pins and a needle threader in it. The pink color fits the satin on Bloch shoes and Capezio shoes well. I have sewn 5 pairs of shoes and have yet to run out of thread (using doubled elastics on all 5 pair). My only complaint is that the pink is WAY too pink for Russians. I think I will try the white thread next time (if I ever run out ;).

I am a beginner at pointe, though intermediate in ballet, and am still getting the hang of sewing my pointes. This kit makes it so, so, so easy! The needles are a great and perfect size- thick, long, with a big eye. So easy to sew with! I got the pink thread and it perfectly matches my pointe shoes. It even comes with instructions on how to sew your shoes! This kit is beyond amazing-!!!!!

This is my favorite item for my pointe shoes. I sew a pair with regular needle/thread, and was a lot of work. With this kit, it's way easier. I also love the durable needles they provide.

I DEFINITELY recommend this!! I always sew my pointe shoes and ballet slippers with this and it's so easy to put in my dance bag or purse and sew in the car or before class! I lovelovelove it:)

I bought the Stitch Kit just a few weeks ago and I was anticipating to use it for my new pair of pointe shoes. It arrives and I open it and..... I accidenly ordered it in black instead of pink. Instead of sending it back I decided to keep it because, as many dancers now know, anything can happen. At my performance, my black costume ripped clear down the back when it got caught on a hook. The stitch kit had everything I needed to quickly sew it (durable thread, needles, cutter) and I got the job done in 15 minutes, kind of sloppily but well enough to make my costume look normal! It was so conveniant and saved a lot of time. I even ordered in white and pink because it is so handy! All of my friends have one now!

I an a professional designer, so already have heavy duty thread and excellent needles that cost less than this product. So my indifference is based on my frequent trips to the store where I buy these things for much less and get thinner needles that are easier to use. I ended up giving this product away.
But for someone who never goes to fabric stores, the bonus to this product is the convenience. You still need scissors, and I recommend thread snips, not the big Fiskars most of us have laying around. Get a small pair of Gingher snips (many coupons abound for 40% off at JoAnn Fabrics) and keep them in your kit. Look into getting a spoon of heavy duty thread while you're at it, and thinner needles. The thickness of the needles in this kit are quite thick.
Someone mentioned regular thread snapping. This will happen if you take stitches that are too big. I've used regular thread with no problems. Follow the stitching under the elastic casing. When you get to the end of the ribbon, make a pass back so you've sewn twice. Use the stitching holes that are already there as a guide. Doing this I've never had a thread snap.

I love this kit. The threat is super sturdy, I've never had my ribbons come lose unlike regular threat. And I love the big needle, it makes it so much easier than regular needles to sew ribbons.

These threads are super sturdy! I not only use them to sew my shoes, but also to reinforce the buttons and stuff on my clothes. Because the needle is quite thick, using a thimble would make it go through a lot easier. I also find the pink thread too peachy; it doesn't suit all of my shoes.

This is awesome for all dancers, pointe or not. This is great especially for recital for last minute costume fixes. Every dancer should have one in their dance bag!

If you have ever had the misfortune of shoe ribbons or elastic failing while dancing you will appreciate this thread. The needle included in the kit is a bit cumbersome so I replace it with a smaller needle that has a large eye. In addition, I prefer using a pair of blunt nosed embroidery scissors instead of the dental floss like metal cutter on the top of the thread cylinder.
This thread requires no doubling. It is dependable and strong. I recommend you purchase two kits -- one for your dance bag and one for your at home sewing kit. I have used it to reinforce coat buttons. It is a worthwhile investment.

The thread is SUPER strong! It is built to last,and it does! I love this product I wouldn't use any other thread to sew my pointe shoes after using this one. It is so awesome IT IS A MUST HAVE FOR YOUR DANCE BAG!

This kit is a lifesaver! My pointe shoes were falling apart at the seams and I needed to stitch them up on the toe and these held up even after an hr and a half of intense pointe. The thread didn't even fray.I also used the directions to sew on elastic and it worked well. Get this; it's a dancer's necessity.

I love this. The thread is very strong so the ribbons and elastic on my pointe shoes never come off like they used to. Even though my pointe shoes are pink, I have one in white because that's all my local dance store had. It still looks fine with my Capezio shoes and Capezio ribbons. But does anybody know how the pink would look with them?

I would highly suggest purchasing this. I have used it so often, and it has everything in it! It's perfect because you can just keep it in your dance bag for when you need it, and it never seems to run out of thread. Great product!

I buy these all the time now.
I used to use waxed dental floss to darn my shoes but there is no comparison. Dental floss shreds after a while, but this stuff stays forever! It's thick enough to last and it glides sooooo easy! Really at first I thought it was going to be a waste of money. But it is so worth it, just try it! You are going to love it!

Great for on the go sewing! I suggest that you stretch the thread before sewing because the wax on it will keep it curly and hard to use otherwise.
