Caroline06/09/2022PERFECT FOR WARM WEATHER
I bought these capri length tights to wear during the summer months under my practice leotards as my current rehearsal space can get a bit warm. I don't like performing sans tights, so these are a must-have for me. I would say they run a bit small, so I'd order a size up (I normally wear a size M but ordered the size L-XL).

I love these tights! I have to say, I was a little bit apprehensive because of the term "hip-rider" but it turns out that the waistband falls at a really comfortable spot on me. I am 5'5" and do have a longer torso.
The waistband stays put and the capri length is great. I can wear any socks I want without it looking silly!
If you're looking for a staple pair of black tights to add to your collection, grab these!

These are ridiculously small. I am usually an adult medium but bought lg-Xlg to make sure they wouldn't be uncomfortable. I couldn't even get these over my calf and felt it cutting off my circulation immediately. Once the package is opened they are nonreturnable so i am going to give these to my 7 year old 50 lb niece and hope that they aren't too small for her.
Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with this tight. We will address the issue with the manufacturer and make them aware of the sizing discrepancy. One of our Customer Service representatives will contact you to rectify the situation.

LPKC05/08/2015FINALLY FOUND THE TIGHTS I WAS LOOKING FOR
These are exactly what I was looking for. They ride low, so they don't bind. I have to laugh at the reviewers who say they're too small. They ride low and are capris- so they are going to be smaller, but I'm a 45 year old woman, 5'8" and 145 lbs and the L/XL fits me perfectly. I take 4-5 ballet classes a week and they get a great workout and remain run- free and in great shape. I've recently ordered more.

SouthernKentuckyDance05/08/2014PRETTY MUCH MY FAVORITE
I wear these tights all the time and they are my favorite. They are a little tight, but the large/extra large size is too big. Capezio is definitely my favorite. I've had the sun tan color for two years and they wash really well and haven't gotten a run yet.

MicheleInDavis03/27/2014PRETTY GOOD
Overall, these tights are good quality. I have worn these tights almost exclusively since they came out. They are fairly comfortable and they last through months of washings (and even going through the dryer). The fit between individual pairs of tights isn't always consistent. Sometimes the rise is very short and other times they go up past my belly button - it just depends on the pair. Occasionally a pair will have a waistband that rolls down or the legs roll up, so I just wear that pair inside-out and that keeps them from rolling.

Lyndalu08/02/2013VERY COMFORTABLE!
These sit just low enough on the hip, so there's no binding at the waist. The band at the bottom of the tights stretches a lot, so there's no binding at the calf either.

Charlotte11/14/2009 A2, Mi,OK....
Taking everyone's advice, I ordered a L/XL because they are ridiculously short. Even in the largest size, they don't EVEN come down halfway on my calves--and I'm only 5'4'' with average length legs! I ordered the Black and Ballet Pink colors. Even though I'm only 100 lbs, the black stretched thin over my thighs (ok, ok my thighs are bigger in proportion to the rest of my body) and I even had to pull the tights up from the bottom even further so I had enough covering! The black is opaque from just above the knee down...it turns this dark purplish black color when it stretches over my skin. It's really annoying. The ballet pink isn't as much as a problem, because I don't usually have uniformly opaque tights anyways.
The waistband, however, is awesome. It's just like it is in the picture--thick, non-constricting elastic! It's great--I don't get ANY rolls whatsoever, even under my tightest, shiniest leos. UNFORTUNATELY....the convertible version of the Capezio Hip Rider does NOT have the same waistband! The waistbands are actually completely different.
Since these are wayyy too short to wear in ballet, I wear these to jazz and modern and it's pretty nice.
I give these a star for price, waistband, and softness.

Abigail07/21/2009TINY TIGHTS
Unless you are extremely petite, don't even think about buying these tights. The L/XL is TINY. They're like baby tights - HORRIBLE. DON'T BUY THESE TIGHTS!

I'm 5'3" and 100 lbs. I got the L/XL based on the reviews and they fit perfectly! I love the thick and low waist band. Both the ballet pink and light suntan are beautiful. The latter matches my Asian skin very well. Highly recommended.

Jen05/26/2009 New Haven, Ct,ADULT DANCER
I love these tights, and use them for jazz, modern, and ballet. I'm 30 yrs old, 4'11" and 103 lbs, and the S/M is a bit too small. I can wear them, but the L/XL is far more comfortable. They are the only tights that I wear a L/XL in, which is why I gave these tights four stars instead of five, as the sizing is misleading. Also, they only come about halfway down my calf, so I imagine for a taller dancer that might be an issue. For my height, the length is perfect. Super soft and comfortable!

Celina02/27/2008 Davie, Fl,OK..COULD BE BETTER
I absolutely LOVE the waistband and rise, but they are too short at the leg. Who dances in capri tights anyway? It totally breaks the beautiful line in your leg. I really wish they'd make them to the ankle.

I've been dancing since I was 2 and I always hated tights! They were so itchy and uncomfortable. I had to buy these tights for my duo and I love them! They are the most comfortable tights I've ever worn!

Christi10/01/2007 Wisconsin,JUST WHAT I NEEDED!
I just bought these tights and after reading the reviews about how small they are, I ordered the L/XL size. I'm 5'2" and weigh 105. I've never ordered such a big size, but I am glad I did. They work very well for me. They do come above my belly button, but not as high as regular tights, and I can pull them up high enough to avoid muffin top. I will order these again.

Yungdanca08/05/2007VERY GOOD
I give these 4 stars for only one reason- I have very big calves for my age and the band at the bottom of the tights are super tight. When I take them off, I have a very big ring of red on my calf from the tights digging into my flesh. But still, these tights are comfy, well sized, and sit very good on my hips.

Jackie08/01/2007 Long Beach, Ca,I WOULD RECOMMEND MAKING BIGGER SIZES!!!
I love capri tights. They are my favorite things to wear. I hate tights that rise up past your belly button & when I saw these, I thought it was a miracle. I ordered these tights in L/XL - my usual tight size. I'm 5'7" and 142lbs. When I put these on, the capri length was perfect & the tights were so comfy but they were SO tight at my hips! I was sooo embarassed because it gave me a mushroom top. PLEASE MAKE BIGGER SIZES!!! I loved everything else about the tights, so I just cut the waistband, but now they won't stay up!

The wide waistband is comfortable, no pushing in. The crop length doesn't pinch, like rolling up longer ones does.

I am 5'5" and 120 lbs, and I love these. I got the L/XL because reviewers said they ran small, but they really don't. They still fit me, but they're a little long, although mine never ride up. The waistband is great and doesn't cut into your skin and neither do the cuffs on your legs. My favorite pair of tights by far!

Dancingbanana05/26/2007 New Hampshire,
These tights have a very small hole, which makes for a very painful red mark around your calf. I found these tights itchy and uncomfortable, and they could be much longer.

RLS05/25/2007 Austin, Tx,LOVE THESE TIGHTS
First off- I am 5'9" and about 130-ish pounds. In normal clothing, I wear a size 6 long or an 8 long. I recently got a pair of these capri tights in pink and I LOVE them (size L/XL). They stay in place- the waistband is secure and I don't spend the entire class that I am in, yanking them up (which I do with my convertibles and footed tights). The lowrise is perfect and the thick waistband is probably the most comfortable aspect to dance clothing that I have ever come across (and I've been dancing for over 20 years). I am tall, and capri on me means about 2 inches below my knees- but that means they don't roll over my calves as I dance. I pull my convertibles up that high as well anyways. I also tend to rip all my tights in the crotch within one or two weeks of getting them (from having to pull them up during my classes). I've had these for 4 weeks, and I wear them twice a week for 6-10 hours. No rips yet.
That, in itself, is a miracle. I am buying more pairs of these today!

I really like these tights. I wear them five days a week for a good portion of my day. They work great under all my dance clothes. I would highly recommend them because they are comfortable and functional - much better than having to roll up convertible tights and having your circulation cut off. Definitely give these a try.

Anonymous01/17/2007 Boston, Ma,RUNS SHORT
I recently bought a pair in white in L/XL (I'm 5'4" and typically wear a size 4). The problem is that the tights run short and can ride up to mid-calf. I have a pair of Capezio convertible in black that I think has held up much better.

Kelsey11/01/2006 Minneapolis,
I'm 5'1" 115 lbs. and ordered a S/M - my typical size. The first time I wore these tights, they split in the crotch and continued to run downward. The bottoms of these tights never stay at capri length, but ride up and cut at your knees instead. Overall I was disappointed, as they don't stay up well. If I were to ever think of ordering a second pair, I would go with the larger size, however they are so uncomfortable and as I dance six days a week, they are a last resort in my drawer.

What is the difference between the light suntan and the caramel?
Light suntan is a slightly darker hue than the caramel. Both are in a shade of light milk chocolate. - DDS Customer Service (06/03/2013)
Suntan is a bit lighter. - Lyndalu (08/02/2013)
I believe the light suntan is a little more pink than the caramel, but they appear to be very similar. If you look at the color swatches on the other capezio tights pages, you can compare. Here is one example: http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/style_1815.html?&pid=1954&Shop=Brand&SID=564472137 - Micheleindavis (03/28/2014)
